FROM THE COMMISH

KNOW YOUR REGULATOR SERIES HAS BEGUN

CONTINUING EDUCATION SERIES WILL HELP INFORM ON THE DEPARTMENT ' S WORK written by Commissioner Vicki Schmidt , Kansas Insurance Dept .
Since becoming Commissioner , I have made it my goal to get the word out on what the Kansas Department of Insurance does and how we serve Kansans and the insurance and securities industry . If you have ever heard me speak , you know : I don ’ t want the Department to be the best kept secret in Kansas !
That is why education is so important . As members of the Kansas Association of Independent Agents , you know that providing quality education for insurance agents is one of their top priorities .
In January , the Department and KAIA partnered to bring a free continuing education presentation featuring AIPSO and the changes to the Kansas Auto Insurance Plan administration . Over 400 participants attended that presentation , and I am excited to continue this initiative through the Know Your Regulator continuing education series .

“ over 400 participants attended that

presentation , and I am excited to continue this initiative through the know your regulator continuing education series .”

The first session of the series titled “ The Do ’ s and Don ’ ts of Producer Licensing ”, took place on April 30 with a fantastic turnout . Online and in-person , over 600 registrants joined Monicka Richmeier , the Department ’ s Director of Licensing , as she gave an overview of the Licensing Division and some of the things to know about maintaining a producer license .
Each session in the Know Your Regulator series features Department staff members presenting on topics specific to various divisions within the Department , and provides a free , one-hour CE credit for producers .
If you missed the first session , do not worry ! There are still two more sessions that are available for 2024 :
