At KAIA , we recognize that the future success of our industry depends on the next generation of agents . That ’ s why we have established programs and initiatives to support and encourage young agents to pursue careers in insurance .
Young Agents of Kansas ( YAK ) is a vital part of KAIA , as it provides a platform for young agents to connect with one another , share ideas , and learn from experienced professionals . Young agents have the opportunity to attend educational seminars , networking events , and leadership training programs .

A few years ago , I became more involved with KAIA ’ s Young Agents Committee which helps structure the YAK program by creating networking opportunities and providing education and training programs . My involvement quickly grew into a KAIA Board of Directors seat and now serving as the Board President . Over the years , YAK has evolved from a few networking events to hosting their own conference and has won several national awards .
If you are new to the industry , I urge you to attend a YAK event and discover for yourself the value of this group . If you ’ ve already attended YAK events and would like to go deeper , I ’ d recommend joining the Young Agent Committee . And if you are not technically a “ young ” agent , your support of younger agents makes all the difference .
