KANSAS MARKETPLACE HEADLINES
AL SHANK INSURANCE LIVING ON THROUGH IRON INSURANCE
Iron Insurance Partners has announced a merger with Liberal-based Al Shank Insurance .
Al Shank Insurance was founded in 1941 by Al and Maxine Shank . In 1974 Al Shank Jr . joined the agency and was serving as firm President up until his passing in February of this year . Shank Jr . was not only active and heavily involved in the Liberal community , but also a tremendous advocate and leader in the insurance industry .
" Mr . Shank was a highly respected insurance professional who was exceptionally community minded . With his untimely passing , it is very bittersweet to be moving forward , however , we know we are partnering with a top-notch organization " said Shawn Myers , Chief Executive Officer of Iron Insurance Partners .
The merger will not affect the current staff or locations of either company . Clients will continue to work with their existing agents and service teams . Al Shank Insurance will maintain their name and brand for the time being as they transition to a full Iron Insurance Partners integration .
EXPANDED STATE FILING REPORT NOW AVAILABLE
For years , members have appreciated that the Kansas Filing Report published in KIA & B which provides carrier rate changes by program and major line . We often hear that the first thing many members do is flip to the back of the magazine to review the report . Based on feedback , we have expanded the filing report to include not only rate changes , but policy changes / endorsements , new programs , filing withdrawals along with SERFF descriptions . These monthly expanded reports are now available in the monthly KAIA newsletter and are being reviewed by the Insurance Coverage Committee as more timely way to monitor the marketplace . CHUBB NA ANNOUNCES EXEC . LEADERSHIP CHANGES
Chubb has announced several executive leadership changes in its North American general insurance business , with John Lupica becoming executive chairman . Lupica was vice chairman of Chubb Group and president of North American insurance .
BRETT PURCELL LEAVES SECURA
Brett Purcell , Regional Vice President – Sales ( AZ , CO , KS , MN , MO ) has taken another job opportunity . His last day at SECURA was June 24 . Brett was with the company for 12 years and a strong supporter of the KAIA .

SAFETYCULTURE CARE HOSTS WEBINAR FOR KAIA COMMITTEES
At a time when carriers are looking for ways to reduce loss ratios and agencies are exploring ways to provide more value to customers , KAIA Committee members recently participated in a webinar to review a loss control and risk management app available from SafetyCulture Care . This app is widely used by small and large businesses , with and without internal loss control staff . The purpose of the call was to get member feedback on how members could benefit from utilizing this platform with customers to add value and eliminate losses driving up industry premiums .
