Big “I” Hires offers a solution to the talent crisis.
F
inding, training and keeping talent is a
key challenge for members that has been
accelerated by the aging demographics
of agency owners and key personnel within our
industry. Supporting our members in this area is
one of our strategic goals and I’m happy to report
that with the help of the Big “I” national office
we have what I think will be a game changer for
our members in helping fill the talent gap. The
product is called Big “I” Hires and offers members
a comprehensive set of professional grade HR tools
to manage the employee acquisition process. It
includes a recruiting platform called IdealTraits,
along with a DIY Hiring Tool toolkit which provides
forms and resources such as sample job descriptions,
postings, sample interview questions and much
more. Here is a summary of some of the product
features offered through Big “I” Hires:
Big “I” Hires Solutions
Recruiting: IdealTraits is a recruiting platform that
allows you to easily create a job postings on their
website and it is automatically uploaded to a large
number of the job sites like Indeed, LinkedIn,
Google, Glassdoor, IMD, and others. Within minutes
you can create your job posting and vastly expand
the visibility of the opening. Idealtraits helps you
manage the resumes that come in providing the
ability to rate candidates with a five-star system. It
also provides the ability to assess job candidates to
better understand their personalities along with
their problem-solving skills.
Hiring: Human resources support has always
seemed to be a pain point for our members and
many small businesses in general. The Big “I” Hires
platform offers a DIY hiring tool kit to simplify
much of the hiring process for CSR’s and producers.
The toolkit features a sample job posting and a
job description along with traits to look for in
strong candidates, sample interview questions, an
employment application, and job offer letter. There
are also stand-alone candidate assessment tools that

Training: Both KAIA and the Big “I” national
offer members a plethora of new hire training
opportunities, many of which are online. Big “I”
Hires features a 10% member discount on both
producer and CSR focused courses created by
The Institutes. Examples of these courses include
“Successful Starts For Producers” and “Producer
Accelerator”. KAIA has also partnered with New
Level Partners to provide new hires with an online
training solution featuring knowledge check points
and interactive learning. “Commercial Lines
and Personal Lines Coverage Basics” and “Client
Management Essentials” are a couple of the courses
available.
I encourage our members to visit Big “I” Hires
to learn more. We actually used the Idealtraits
recruiting platform in the search for candidates
for two open positions at KAIA and were blown
away by the results. We had over 100 candidates
submit resumes through Idealtraits within a month
of posting the job openings. Historically we were
lucky to get ten resumes in a month. The platform
allowed us to review the resumes and manage
responses back to candidates in a professional way.
