an agency, we remained steadfast in our approach of presenting this emerging risk. We made it our agency’s goal in 2014 to learn more about the cyber liability policy and how it would benefit our clients. This resulted in extensive research into the carriers and the contracts they provide. Based on the research we conducted and looking at the makeup of our book of business, we believed we had a great opportunity to add value to our clients. We as agents collect a lot of personal information from our clients, it too is at risk of cyber attacks. You certainly don’t want to sit across from the table of an insured and have to say “NO” when they ask if you have cyber liability in place. 2. Begin with one company that specializes in, or has a specific underwriter for, cyber liability insurance and research. Ask for a specimen contract and read it.
