KAIA Helps with Fire Relief

On Monday, March 6, KAIA staff started receiving text updates from board member, Monica Meininger of Snell-Nelson Agency, on the devastating fires that were burning around Ashland. The pictures that were coming in showed walls of fire surrounding the city.

The next day the aerial footage and updates continued, along with the reports of losses that our member agents were experiencing from their insureds. KAIA staff knew that they needed to step in and provide assistance and support, so they turned to the Trusted Choice Disaster Relief Fund. The Relief Fund acted quickly and funds were on their way by the end of the week.
KAIA team members, Shannon Bower and Joan Sutton, traveled to Ashland on March 15 to deliver cash donations to the Ashland community and to the families affected by total losses.
“ I was not prepared for the devastation that we would see as we pulled into Clark County. It immediately hit us and as we toured the county and met the families affected, I was happy that Trusted Choice was able to support them in their time of loss.” Shannon Bower, KAIA, said.
The Trusted Choice Disaster Relief Fund provided a cash donation to the volunteer fire department in Ashland. Shannon Bower, KAIA, Monica Meininger, Snell- Nelson, and Joan Sutton, KAIA were on hand to present Bill Nier, volunteer fire chief, the donation. Nier and the volunteer crew worked for more than 40 consecutive hours to save their town and as many homes as they could.
Sitting in one of the homes spared on the Giles Ranch, the family hears about replacement options from Monica Meininger, Snell- Nelson, and Farmer’ s Alliance Claims Adjuster, Jason Hageman. The Giles Family lost three homes on their family ranch.“ Farmer’ s Alliance was here within hours of the fire, bringing relief to my families. Their response time has been amazing.” Meininger said.
