certainly helped me learn and grow my business.”
During his term as state president, Davidson said he would like to see the association ramp up its communication efforts as well as continue to educate young agents and college-age students about the benefits of a career in the insurance industry.
“ How we communicate member benefits is a humongous challenge – one we’ re going to have to find an answer for,” he said.“ It’ s something we need to work on and improve on.”
He’ s also hopeful about industry efforts to help attract more young adults- including the addition this fall of the new Kansas Insurance Certificate program on some college campuses, and a KAIA endeavor designed to help young agents learn more about the industry while gaining confidence and support.
“ The business allows you flexibility- something people are looking for in the way of a work / life balance,” Davidson said.“ Yes. You may work 60 hours a week, sometimes, but you have the ability to break it up how you like. That’ s certainly one of the benefits.”
And for Davidson, the career he started in 1999 has allowed him just what he was looking for – a solid, stable environment for he and his wife, Amanda, and their two children, Spencer and Shelby. It’ s also given him the opportunity to coach his children’ s basketball and baseball teams as well as spend time hunting and golfing.
“ It’ s definitely given me the time to be with my family,” he said.
