| PRESIDENT’S PAGE | Just say yes Saying yes to the things that matter most will protect and preserve our profession for years to come DUSTY DAVIS KAIA President F rom Steve Jobs on down the line, we’re told in today’s world to “just say no.” Leadership books and motivational speakers tell us time and time again that if we say yes to everything we’ll wind up taking on too much, and in the end accomplishing less. They’re right – we can’t yes to everything. But, we can – and should – say yes to the things that matter most. what matters most Like you, what matters most to me is my family, my community and my profession. I commit to my family every day and I commit to my community in a number of ways through local boards and economic development efforts. It’s not as easy to find the time to commit to our profession. But, we need to. Why? Quite frankly, because no one else will. As independent agents, we’ve built and invested for nearly 100 years in our association – the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents. Our association is strong because agents today – and the agents who came before us – have said yes. thank you for saying yes I want to thank all of you who have said yes – not once, but for many of you, you’ve said yes to our profession many times over. You’ve participated in Rural & Small and the recent Leadership & Development Conference ... you’ve provided input and leadership as part of the association’s committees ... you’ve testified before legislative committees and helped show our strength in numbers at Kansas Agents Legislative Day ... you’ve provided a firsthand perspective of agency challenges so that our staff could help address those challenges for the industry ... and you’ve stepped up to serve on the KAIA board. 2 I want to espec
