an agency TRADITION Dusty Davis carries on agency tradition as next KAIA president D usty Davis, vice president of ICI in El Dorado, was elected president of KAIA Oct. 8 during the association’s annual Leadership & Development Conference. Dusty has more than 16 years experience in the insurance industry. With his election, he follows in the footsteps of his mentor and former boss, the late Tom Murry. Murry was longtime president of ICI, served as president of KAIA, and remained active in the association as a past president and member of the Government Affairs Committee. Like Murry, Davis has never shied away from giving back to the association. He first became involved with KAIA as chairman of the Young Agents Committee in 2002 and then progressed to become active as chairman of the golf subcommittee, chairman of the Trusted Choice/ Communications committee and as chairman of the AScK board of directors. He joined the KAIA Board of Directors in 2012 and served as an officer on the executive committee before being elected president. Davis joined the ICI team in 1999. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas and has earned his CIC and CWCA designations. Other officers elected to the board include: Lyle Davidson, The Davidson Agency in Delphos, President-Elect; Scott Strong, Strong’s Insurance in Nashville, Treasurer; Lee Gleason, Kansas Farmers Service Association in Hutchinson, Assistant Treasurer/Secretary; and Cindy Hower, Kellerman Insurance in Holton, National Director. SueAnn Schultz of IMA in Topeka will serve as past president on the board. New board members elected at the conference include: Lucas Raleigh, Raleigh Insurance in Little River; Monica Meininger, Snell-Nelson Insurance in Ashland; and Austin Renn, Renn & Company in Wellington.
