| CONTINUING EDUCATION | Agriculture and construction designation classes come to Kansas C lasses for two specialized industry designations are now being offered in Kansas through KAIA’s continuing education program. KAIA will launch its first set of classes for the Agribusiness & Farm Risk Specialist (AFIS) designation and the Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation Oct. 21-22 at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. AgriBusiness & Farm Insurance Specialist The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) program is focused on the insurance and risk management needs of agribusiness and farm operations. Earning or retaining the AFIS designation is the premier way for agents to differentiate themselves from the competition, expand their knowledge of ag and farm coverage, and signify to clients that they have an expertise in the agribusiness industry. To earn the AFIS designation, agents must complete five sessions, known as AFIS Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, and sucessfully pass the exams for each within a five-year period. The parts may be taken in any order. Parts 1, 2, 3 and 5 will be offered for agents to choose from at KAIA’s AFIS Conference, as well as breakout sessions for those agents working to renew their AFIS desigfnation. Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist The CRIS designation is designed for agents, brokers, CSRs, and in-house risk managers or insurance buyers who want to increase their knowledge of construction insurance and risk management.
