| PRESIDENT’S PAGE | Generational leadership Making the difficult decisions, being nimble and taking risks will pave the way for our industry in the next generation SUEANN SCHULTZ KAIA President I want to dedicate this month’s President’s column to one of our own – Bob Fee, who was elected to the National IIABA Executive Committee leadership team at the IIABA National Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. last month. Every KAIA member should be extremely proud that Bob – “one of us!” was elected on the first ballot with three outstanding Directors running for the At-Large position. The following is the nomination speech Bob gave. I think it is worth sharing with our membership as an example of inspirational leadership through generations in our industry. Bob fee’s speech at the big i: Thank you Mr. Chairman. My fellow Directors, I am pleased to stand before you today asking for your vote and seeking your confidence as I run for the Executive Committee of the Big I. I don’t take this election, or this position lightly. This association means so much to me, as I know it does to you. Allow me to tell you a little about myself, why I decided to run for this position and the opportunities I see ahead for our association. Telling you my story really begins with the introduction of my greatest champion, trusted critic and truly, my best friend – my wife Annie. Annie and I have four children, who naturally, I think are exceptional in every way. I am grateful for the confidence and support from my family throughout this campaign and the occasional kicks in the rear from my loving wife when it was required. Thanks, Annie. I’d also like to recognize, welcome and thank my dear friends, Greg and Marsha Renn. Many of you know Greg as the former Director from Kansas.
