11 traits of a leader
here are hundreds of books and thousands of
articles about leadership characteristics and
traits. When we read the words, everyone would
agree that the traits are accurate. But, real
leadership is about taking baby steps each day to improve.
Leaders never stop learning, never stop growing and
never stop challenging themselves onward to being better
than they were the day before. Because we like lists, here’s
a list of 11 Leadership Characteristics that all leaders
should ask themselves: Do I do this, Can I do more of it?,
and Can I do it better?

There are moments when a business decision must
be made: end a relationship, change direction, didn’t
hire right. Remember, it is about the business; it is not
personal. Ask is there an internal position they are better
suited for? Play to strengths and then fill in the gaps.
willing to challenge
Leaders ask questions, solve problems creatively, ask is
there a better way versus status quo, and solicit opinions.
celebratory
Leaders praise verbally, in writing and with money.
Identify what will motivate, encourage and reward efforts
by asking employees their preferences.
embrace mistakes
Mistakes are learning opportunities whether the mistake
is yours or others. Grant grace and coach through it.
