2015 Kansas insurance awards Give credit where credit is due nalyzing risks, getting quotes, helping out in the community, talking clients through the claims process, working with carriers to resolve client concerns, serving in a volunteer role with KAIA, contributing to local fundraising projects ... It’s all in a day’s work for independent agents throughout the state. But, wouldn’t it be nice to get – or give – a little credit to all those in our industry who go above and beyond? A The Kansas Insurance Awards are designed to do just that. The annual awards – sponsored by KAIA – provide an opportunity to recognize someone in your agency who goes out of their way to serve their clients ... or a company representative who stands out in their efforts to promote the independent channel ... or a leader in the industry whose career should be applauded for their professionalism and lifetime achievements. “Independent agents work hard every day, without seeking credit other than the satisfaction of serving their clients and their communities,” said Kerri Spielman, executive director of KAIA. “These awards are a chance for our members to brag a little bit about the employees in their shop who exemplify what it means to be an independent agent.” The awards include: Agent of the Year, Outstanding Young Agent, Distinguished Service Award, and Company Representative of the Year. Members are invited to nominate independent agents and company representatives for one or more of these industry awards. Members may self-nominate and nominations can be submitted anonymously. 20 Rep. Mark Hutton (R-Wichita) received KAIA’s Advocate of the Year award in 2014. Each year, KAIA honors those who have gone above and beyond in their communities, within their agencies and on behalf of the industry with the Kansas Insurance Awards. Hutton was recognized for his work in the Legislature to increase transparency in workers compensation insurance and protect small business owners.
