Outstanding Customer Service
Representative of the Year
Martha Elliott, CISR, was honored Jan. 27 in
Hutchinson as the state’s Outstanding Customer Service
Representative of the Year. Elliott is the Client Services
Coordinator for Marsh & McLennan Agency in
Overland Park.
Bestowed by The National Alliance, the Outstanding
CSR of the Year Award is one of the greatest professional
honors a customer service representative in the insurance
industry can receive. Recipients are selected through
an essay process that recognizes dedication, ability,
commitment and outstanding achievements in the
customer service profession. This year’s recipients wrote
an essay on whether new or renewal business was most
important to an agency.
Elliott wrote: “I believe that both new and renewal
business is crucial to an agency, though I would argue
that renewal business is the more important of the
two. Building a large book of business is crucial to
the longevity of an agency. An agency and its book
are sustained by renewal business; giving the agency a
consistent and predictable income. This in turn gives an
agency a higher financial rating allowing for favorable
banking and investment opportunities.
“Having a wealth of renewal business also shows
potential clients that the agency is solid and dependable,
evidencing stability and integrity. A new client can believe
that the agency stands behind their product and will
make good on claims and promises.”
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2015 CSR of
the Year Award. See the nomination form on pages 11-12 to
