Artists to watch in the future!

Fernando Otero

Fernando has achieved a phenonimal exhibition record, with shows in the UK, USA, Brasil and Chile! In much of the recent work made by Fernando we can see common objects he has collected, such as straight edges, rules, and other implements used to measure things. These works made up of gauges also gauge the artist who created them and gauge the viewer who is seeing them. They take measure of the culture in which they are exposed. I myself have always thought that the measure of a culture was its ability to accept challenging works of art or not, and I could see that Fernando also liked to push the boundaries of his patrons and his new audiences.

Carlos Montes

Carlos a recent graduate of PUCP, has a true social conscience which he brings to reality in his unique sculptural forms!

It is rare in one so young to find a moral compass that points so strongly in the right direction.

Rodrigo Tafur

Rodrigo Tafur was born in Arequipa in 1990. Twenty-four years later he graduated from the Faculty de Arte, of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, Lima, Peru. He has won some acclaim from his peers being awarded the Premio Adolfo Winternitz 2013 - Facultad de Arte PUCP and Primer Puesto Academico (promociĆ³n 2014) Premio Adolfo Winternitz. Facultad de Arte PUCP.

Lucas Rueckner

Lucas enjoys making art and incorporating play into the work he creates. His activities in the studio are translated into interactive pieces that reflect his life as a child. He draws upon his experiences growing up in a provincial northern beach town of Peru to inform his art-making by contemplating those days as he works. He uses the energy and the imagination of the play he took part in as a child, redirecting it into the creative process of the artist.

Nobuaki Nakashima

Nobuaki began his career as a painter in Japan in the late 70's. In the late 80's, after working as a graphic designer for several years, he traveled to the U.S. in search of new horizons. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he completed the Certificate Program and earned several awards including: the Lewis S. Ware Memorial Travel Scholarship Award, the Philadelphia Artists Award, and the Cuff/Sammak Prize for Abstract Painting.
