OUTLINE OF THE SESSION

Acknowledge the group, welcoming and apologies.

Open the group session with a prayer/poem. Before commencing with the group, briefly discuss the previous session.

Get feedback from the group on anything they feel they want to share with the group. Ask about any highlights or negative
experiences, and did they discuss the session with any of their family members or friends and if so, how was it received?

Ice-breaker (Charades).

Introduction of parenting skills.

Get the group's view of parenting (discussion).

Ask the group about parenting skills they know.

Discuss different parenting styles.

Indicate the most important parenting styles on a flip chart.

Divide the group according to their styles. Ask them to discuss their characteristics or similarities on parenting.
