OUTLINE OF THE SESSION JOINT GROUPS (70 minutes) - Prayer - Feeling thermometer - Climbing down the Tree exercise - Discussion -Ask the mothers and children if is necessary to have goals for the future. -Ask them what a goal is. -Ask them what goals they have for the future. Activity 1: Collage Collage Materials needed: A3 paper, glue, pencils, scissors and magazines Instructions: Ask the mothers and children to make a collage together. They may use any of the materials to make their collage. Explain that a collage is a big picture made with smaller pictures. Ask the mothers and children to make a collage that will show what their future plans are. Discussion Ask the mothers and children how they will reach their future plans. Activity 2: Future path Future path Materials needed: Whiteboard paper, paint, brushes and pencils Instructions: Ask the mothers and children to draw their future path/road on the paper. Ask the children to draw/paint on the one side how they are going to reach their goals. For example, if a child wants to become a doctor, he or she has to work hard in school and study hard for exams. Ask the mothers to draw on the other side how they want to reach their future goals. For example if they want to live a strong and healthy life they have to exercise, sleep well, eat well and not take on too much stress. Discussion Ask the mothers and children if they think they could reach their future goals. Ask the mother-child groups how they would commit to each other to reach their planned future.
