- Concentration - Planning - Making a memory OUTLINE OF THE SESSION SEPARATE GROUPS (10 minutes) Mother Group - Welcome. - Get feedback of last week's session. - Ask the mothers if they have discussed the session with their children and what their children's comments were. - Explain today's session to the mothers. Activity one: Making your own clay and having clay fun - Explain to the mothers that it is not always necessary to buy toys. In many cases, it is more fun to make your own toys together with your children. - Explain that the clay recipe would be demonstrated to them and their children, and that they then will have the opportunity to make their own clay which they may take home afterwards. - After making the clay, they will have a chance to play with the clay. - Both the child and mother will alternately have a chance to make any object, animal, person, etc., with the clay and then the other party has to guess what the object is. - Every child and mother will have 3 chances to make a clay figure and 3 chances to guess what was made with the clay. Activity two: Making a bead bracelet together with your child - During this activity every mother-child pair will receive a container filled with beads and an elastic band. - The mothers and children will then have an opportunity to make a bracelet together. - Decide together on the different colours that are going to be used and give a meaning to each colour. The meaning of the colours will only be meaningful to the mothers and their children. For example: "Red reminds me of our love for each other; white reminds me of how you listen to me, etc."). - Afterwards the child may take this bracelet home with him or her. Child Group -Climbing down the Tree exercise. -Feeling thermometer. -Ask the children about their week and what things happened in their lives. -Ask the children if they thought of things to put into their boxes they made during the previous two sessions. -Explain today's session to the children. Activity 1: Making and playing with clay. Activity 2: Making a bracelet with beads together with their mothers. Climbing down the Tree exercise JOINT GROUPS (30 minutes) Activity 1: Clay making and playing Give every child-mother group the ingredients for the clay recipe.
