SOUTH AFRICAN HIP HOP ARTIST: YINKS
YINKS
Okay people, we are to switch it
up and take you straight to Africa. Yes
Africa! All my music lovers, you are going
to love this one because if you want to
hear diverse club bangers with
international flavor, then you should check
out my guy Yinks. Check out our interview
here and also make sure you go to his
links and check out his music.
KeyLine: So after checking out a few of
your tracks, you have some great club
bangers. How would you describe your
musical style?
Yinks: Diverse is the right vocabulary.
My music output exhibits in different
genres. I do trap music, club bangers,
R&B, Rap, and I can actually even write
pop songs. Basically I'm a multi system.
KeyLine: Let's start off by you telling
me a little bit of your background, like
where you are from and how long have
you been in the industry?
Yinks: Well I'm originally from the
Ashanti kingdom in Ghana, West Africa,
but currently am based in South Africa
which is my second home. I have been
in the industry for quite some time, but
professionally for four years now. I am a
song writer, rapper, and an upcoming
entrepreneur.
KeyLine: Who are your top 5 artists and
why?
Yinks: Rick Ross is amazing; His level
of writing lyrics makes him a genius. To
me T.I is a legend; His branding is a long
lasting one. Nicky, Chris Brown, and
Drake are brands that will sell even in a
perfect competition market. They are
very consistent.
KeyLine: If you had your pick, dead or
alive, who would you want to do a track
with and why?
Yinks: Rick Ross, I always feel I will
make a great song with that guy; a song
history will remember. He is on my list
and the time will come for that.
KeyLine: How do you feel about
making a transition to the U.S.?
Yinks: That's one of my goals, but I want
to make the move in a calculated way.
The U.S. market is big and any rapper
that dreams big definitely will want a
