HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY TO HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II
KEW COLLEGE AND THE QUEEN’S SCHOOL STREET PARTY
A very special day! The Kew College and
Queen’s School community joined forces to
celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II’s official 90th birthday in an exceptional
‘Street Party’. The bunting was out in force
and the street was adorned in glorious red,
white and blue for the occasion. The children
– all 700 of them – ate lunch together along
the length of Cumberland Road, devouring
the cake provided by Queen’s school and the
delicious strawberries and blueberries from
KCF. The atmosphere was one of sheer happiness and enjoyment as we honoured the
Queen who is someone very special in our
national identity. Zac Goldsmith officially
opened the party to rapturous applause, followed by glorious renditions of songs from
the nineties and culminating in a rousing version of the National Anthem. It was an absolute pleasure to see children from both
schools interacting and enjoying each other’s
company whilst engaged in numerous exciting activities.
