School Celebrations Book Day I liked the Big Read when I sat on my pillow reading. Alessia Reading the myths we wrote: We arrived all dressed up in our favourite book character with the most popular book character being Harry Potter! Next we met the author of the book trilogy ‘Sea Bean’, ‘Sea War’ and ‘Sea Rise’ who was called Sarah Holding. We did a thrilling workshop where she read out an extract and wrote a small paragraph after the scene describing how we thought it would turn out. After the Year 5 came to our classroom to read workshop we undertook a Book Day quiz to us and Felix read ‘The Pirate Fairy’ which involved working out the title and the to me. I really enjoyed the story author of the books on the screen and we especially the voices that Felix used for were asked questions about book the characters. Zoya Year 1 characters and authors. It was loads of fun and my team did very well! I loved it when the big children came into my class to read a story. Daniel NY Next, there was the ‘Big Read’ where we all got comfortable and read for about 40 minutes. We had an amazing relaxing time on cushions and tables! Finally we had an experience of reading our myths to Year 5. We had been working on them for a term and this was the climax of a thoroughly enjoyable project! Without a doubt this was the best Book Day ever and all the pupils had an absolute blast embracing their love of reading! Leo Year 6 Mrs Tabor read us the story of ‘The Stick Man’ and she was dressed up as the character. She looked very funny and I really enjoyed listening to the story. Isabel A Yr 1 86
