Drama Year 5 Building on the workshops held on History day, Year 5 gave a traditional display of English Morris dancing, Maypole dancing and sang to their families. The children performed a handkerchief dance, a stick dance and maypole dancing, interspersed with charming renditions of the age-old English songs: Lavenders Blue, An English Country Garden and The Green Grass Grows. They looked a treat in their Morris dancing outfits and clearly enjoyed engaging in traditions of old. How wonderful to see such a quintessentially English performance in our playground, to the delight of their captive audience. 70
