Kindergarten Laying the Foundations Expressions through Art Our Kindergarten children have been exploring their creative and artistic skills in print, collage, paint, and clay to record and express their ideas, feelings and experiences. They dipped vehicle wheels in paint and rolled them over canvas in the style of Jackson Pollock. What a wonderful experience and the outcome was sensational! Exploring Ice Our pupils became scientists for the day for our ice investigation. Upon discovering that Arctic animals had been frozen in the ice, they endeavoured to use their critical thinking skills to free them. They suggested a variety of ways to melt the ice and were fascinated by the results. “Inside the ice it looks like snow. It feels cold and wet.” Alejandro KGG “We could put it close to something hot like a radiator. There are lots of things that can make ice melt like rubbing it, putting it in hot water and putting it on the radiator." Samvid KGG “It is hot at the radiator. We will put it near to make it melt.” Zac KGG “I think the hot water is getting a bit colder with the ice in it.” Hugo KGB 8 “The ice feels cold and slippery. If we leave it in KGB it will melt. If we put it outside it will not melt because it is cold.” Kian KGB
