Kew College Friends THE KCF COMMITTEE Kew College Friends, known as KCF, is a committee of parents representing the 7 year groups in the school . They fundraise for the school and its charity and provide social opportunities for the children and the parents. There are also numerous sub-committees so that the wider parent body can become involved in the activities. SECRET SANTA Just before Christmas, Mrs. Earthy’s office was transformed into Santa’s Grotto. Excited children looking very festive in their Christmas jumpers visited the grotto to choose from a variety of gifts for their mums, dads, aunties, uncles, grandparents, siblings and nannies. “Mrs. Santa” and her dedicated team of elves met the children and helped them to choose and label their selected presents. What a fabulous event! THE KEW COLLEGE BALL Nearly 200 parents and teachers gathered together at the Richmond Hill Hotel in their finery for an evening of winter glamour to raise funds for the new school library. A champagne reception started the evening off, with a delicious three course meal to follow. The eagerly anticipated raffle was drawn, offering some truly incredible and luxurious prizes donated by parents. The wine flowed and soon everyone was on their feet dancing the night away to the sounds of the live band - 'After Sun'. It was a tremendous evening. THE SCHOOL FAIR This year’s Summer Fair followed a Wild West theme with bales of hay, a bucking bronco and cowhide balloons galore. We were lucky to have glorious sunshine and those that came along stayed to enjoy all that was on offer. New this year; a plant stall, Starbucks stall and a prize tree stall which was very popular. Additionally, thirsty parents ran the champagne stall dry! The children entertained us with their brilliant dance and music performances and numerous fantastic prizes were won in the raffle and silent auction. We raised in excess of £14,000 which is no mean feat, so thank you to all involved. 88
