Nursery Class Activities In our Nursery we plan a variety of activities covering all seven areas of learning. Consideration is carefully tai- lored to suit individual needs, interests and stages of development. Each area of learning and development is implemented through planned, purposeful play. Play is essential for children, it helps to build confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems and re- late to others. Fire Brigade During the Summer Term we enjoyed a special visit from the London Fire Brigade and their big red fire engine. The firemen talked to us about fire safety. The chil- dren were fascinated to hear what they had to say. Brave Miss Williams volun- teered to wear the firefighter uniform. The children were then treated to a tour of the fire engine, which was parked on the forecourt and had the opportunity to explore some of the equipment. Wild West Mufti Day The children relished the fun of being cowboys and cowgirls. They participated in all of the activities provided throughout the day, including a parade of their wonderful costumes and learning the steps of a Rodeo Dance. Yeehaw! 7
