Science
Science transformed our young immature brains into steely , impeccable minds full of juicy facts about Sound , Solids , Liquids and Gases , the Water Cycle , Electricity and Living Creatures . An exhilarating year of daring experiments and dazzling results ! I love Science . Mathilda L Year 4
Year 4 tested out the speed of evaporation .
Rockets whizzed past Year 5 as we travelled through the solar system and discovered the facts about each planet , including Earth . We found that cotton was an extremely good thermal insulator during a thermal insulator experiment . We dropped paper helicopters from the balcony to witness the effects of air resistance . We researched the life cycles of flowers , animals and humans . Year 5 have done the lot ! Gemma G
Year 5 carrying out an experiment on air resistance .
A Year 5 pupil built a model of the Solar System .
Year 6 carrying out an experiment on how exercise affects our heart rate .
Year 6 took part in two online lessons through the BBC website . Terrific Scientific allowed us to learn about Electricity and Forces along with thousands of children across the country . It was fascinating when we found out a pickled cucumber could conduct electricity and the different forces at work on a Formula 1 Racing Car ! William G
Year 6 BBC Terrific Scientific .
Year 6 studied the circulatory system , electricity , light , evolution and dinosaurs . We broadened our understanding through books , websites , Powerpoints and practical experiments . One such example was the lesson in which everybody was given a part of the body and was asked to do the job of that organ using cards labelled oxygen , water and nutrients . During the electricity topic we created circuits using wires , buzzers , motors and batteries whilst also learning how to draw this circuit as a scientific diagram . A great year of Science . Laila A
