Nursery Jungle Small World Play Our Nursery children enjoyed exploring the fascinating world of the jungle. It provided many exciting and creative opportunities for them to investigate habitats that are very different from their own. They took part in many activities, naming and playing with the animals, as well as creating their own jungle background through weaving. Joseph B "I have a Safari park car - it's in the jungle. The leopard is going in the back". Oscar M: "The lion, he can swim in the ju ngle and he has a propeller on his tail. It will make him go in the water and swim really fast". Bocketts Farm Nursery Red and Nursery Yellow went on an expedition to Bocketts Farm. The children were treated to a tour of the farm’s perimeter on a tractor ride, giving them the perfect opportunity to look at many of the animals in their natural habitat, including pigs, cows and horses to name but a few. Jessy the Swiss goat gave lots of warm milk. The pig race was the highlight of the day. We had a terrific hands-on experience stroking the rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and mice. Cooking and Decorating Cooking, tasting and decorating sessions are a fun and exciting experience in the Nursery. Each Friday the school corridors are filled with wonderful aromas from the scrumptious delights we produce, for example ‘To Die for Muffins’ and ‘Marshmallow Pig biscuits’. Children learnt how to chop, mix ingredients together, measuring, weighing and tasting. 5
