Year 6 Flying Stride 2017 Stride 2017 culminated in a very busy week of Perfect Pitches, assembly presentations and the incredible Enterprise Fair. All six Year 6 businesses had the opportunity to promote their products and services to their target customers at a Junior House assembly. The Mad Hatters, Summer Surprise, Sugar Snaps, Salty Secrets, Teddies and Tombola and Flip'n'Dip all made dynamic presentations, along with exciting promotional videos and materials. The Junior House were ready to shop until they dropped at the Enterprise Fair! Next was Perfect Pitch day and the judges; Miss Townsend, Mrs Dimmock, Mrs Brackenbury and Mrs Warburton had their work cut out choosing a winner, as they were treated to six very creative and original pitches. The Year 6s were ready to launch their products! Friday afternoon at Kew College was a whirl of activity as the Year 6s set up their stalls and prepared for the opening of the Enterprise Fair. It was fantastic to see the collaborative teamwork, smooth organisation and responsible approach of the pupils to this challenging endeavour. The crowds descended and the teams demonstrated impressive marketing, promotional and customer service skills resulting in a very entertaining and successful event. The following week the Stride coordinators returned to Kew College to debrief all the teams after the Enterprise Fair and present the awards. The coordinators were extremely impressed by the achievements of the Year 6s and provided very useful feedback, not to mention some delicious cupcakes! In total, the Stride Enterprise Fair raised a record breaking £722.99 for charity! The following awards were presented at the end of term assembly: • Salty Secrets won the Customer Service award earning a profit of £87.64 • Tombola Teddies won the award for Product and Packaging Design and earnt a profit of £93.40 • Flip’n’Dip won the Product Innovation award and made a profit of £94.50 • Sugar Snaps won the award for Best Logo and Teamwork with a profit of £123.96 • The Perfect Pitch award went to Summer Surprise who made a profit of £94.32 • The Most Profitable Business award went to the Mad Hatters, who made an incredible profit of £229.14! “It was a great experience being an entrepreneur!” Sasha B 42
