It It seemed seemed never- never- ending! We already knew it would be an exciting day ending! We already knew it would be an exciting day ahead. ahead. We walked up the hill to the ski hut, full of excitement and clipped our boots into our skis ready to go! We had some practice at the bottom of the slope before tackling the button lifts. There were a few very funny falls - our teachers found it hard not to laugh at us as we lay on our backs, skis in the air! We skied higher and higher until we reached the red slope. As we skied down, the cold breeze flew past our faces like we were on a real mountain. We had a smashing time! We screamed for our lives as we whizzed down the zip wire, heading at impressive speed! Our friends caught us by the feet and brought us back to Earth. We all had jobs to do to help each other complete the challenge - runners who fetched the clips, stair pullers to help us climb down and a cheer squad . The arrows were sharp and pointy and the bows were enormous and long. It was really good fun, but quite difficult. We had to wear an arm guard to protect against the string scraping our arms. We played a game where the colours on the target board represented ingredients in a cake. Our teams had to hit every colour so we could have the ingredients to make the cake! … we don’t think our cakes would have tasted very good! As we walked into the crystal clear water of the pool we saw the equipment we would need for our raft building task. In front of us were several tangled ropes, some narrow planks of wood, four plastic drums, and six puzzle pieces. Piece by piece we created our raft . Ropes were tied, wood was lashed together with rope (somewhat hap-hazardly!) and the rafts were launched… they went down like the Titanic! 27
