Clubs Fencing Fencing is a fun and exciting Olympic sport which develops balance, flexibility, core strength, timing and fitness. With an emphasis on technique and tactics, fencing is a sport that allows boys and girls to compete on equal terms, and improves concentration and coordination. Classes include warm up games, footwork practice, pair exercises to learn techniques, and practice fights. Sessions are coached by 4 times England Commonwealth Medallist and former British Team member, Marc Bengry. Handball is an Olympic team sport played by boys or girls in which players pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team. It's a game to allow children to have fun, be very active and improve their basic motor skills coordination. The game is easy to learn, because it only requires natural skills such a Jazz Dance A chance for the children to learn Jazz, Street and Funky dance routines to songs from the present and the past. We dance to their favourite current chart hits, popular Handball running, jumping, catching and throwing balls. Children learn concepts such as team spirit and fair play and have immense fun whilst growing in ability. Musical Theatre tunes and old school classic hits. Great fun, confidence building, and the best exercise!! At the end of term we put together 3 or 4 routines and perform a little show for parents to enjoy. Our middle school choir shows some of Kew’s ever- growing singing talent as it’s best. Open to all Year 3 and Year 4 children, the choir is invited to perform in every concert over the Academic year, including Harvest Festival, School Assemblies, Kew Sparkle, Spring Concert, Summer Fair, and the highlight for this year was their participation in ‘Voice in a Junior Vocal Group Million’ at Wembley Arena. Conducted by Head of Music, Miss Taman, this choir continues to explore the joy of singing through a diverse and broad repertoire including both Classical and Contemporary music.
