School Celebrations Founder’s Day was amazing, it was really great to try all of the activities. The part of the day I especially enjoyed was seeing the Kew House School Choir. They sang really well and I was impressed with how well they hit the high notes. I really liked the variety of songs they chose and it was good fun when we got to sing ‘Hallelujah’ with them because we have been learning it too, ready to sing in our Spring Concert! I also enjoyed the media project we did in Year 4 - it looked so cool when we finished it. I called my drag- on ‘The Raptor’. Alex Year 4 We walked into the hall which looked stunning. There were different coloured instruments, scarlet, green, purple and silver, but what were they? Steel Pans! Everyone sat down and listened to the two instructors who, making it look rather easy, played a variety of music on the steel pans. Next up was our turn! First we had to learn a technique called ‘Rolling’ where you had to beat the pan repetitively and quickly. This was great fun as we got to play lots of different notes and roll on them. Gradually we learnt to play more notes and by the end of the workshop it was amazing to hear everyone playing at the same time. What an amazing experience – I’m now ready for a trip to the Caribbean! Oliver Year 5 I liked to ride the little monkey bikes best. Ryan Nursery 97
