Year 6 Kew College – Class of 2017
Goodbye
From my first day at school, Kew College
has been a second home to me. I have
been here for eight years and have enjoyed
every moment. I will never forget the great
memories throughout Kew College;
canoeing in France, elections, sports day
and many more! I am excited to see what
Putney will bring but am extremely sad to
leave. I have made so many friends in my
time at Kew College and I hope I will make
just as many great friends at Putney High
School.

I have been at Kew College for six years and have enjoyed every minute. I have learnt to
become confident in myself and much more imaginative in my writing. One of my favourite
residential trips was when the whole of Year 6 travelled to France and when we all jumped
into the freezing cold lake whilst canoeing. Next year I am going to Notting Hill and Ealing
High School and I could not have done it without all the teachers help and support through
all the good and bad times. Thank you Kew College!

I still remember my first day when a wave of nerves washed over me.
Stepping into the courtyard, into a sea of smiling faces suddenly
overwhelmed me. As the rest of Nursery Red went off to assembly I was
still bawling my eyes out, but I had a friend by my side, a lifelong friend
who felt the same way as I did. Everybody in my year has always been
there when I needed help. Kew College has given me freedom and
independence as well as order. We are a very democratic school - I
remember in Year 5 I was voted in as Junior Road Safety Officer also
known as J.S.O. I’ve also taken up many extra-curricular activities such as
LAMDA and Fencing. However, some of my best experiences have been
on residential trips such as Bushcraft and France. In this year’s
spectacular school play – The Jungle Book, I played Baloo, the bear. I am
looking forward to going to my first choice school, Latymer Upper School
and will remember Kew College fondly.

My time at Kew College has been a memorable experience. I have
learnt so much and improved all my academic skills and sports. Over
the years I’ve become more independent and confident in my work
and in my day to day life. I have loved all our residential trips. My
swimming has improved dramatically, I have loved every Gala and set
school records. Meeting my friends are the best memories of my time
at Kew College and knowing that they will always be there for me.
Hampton is my next school and I will bring all my memories such as
being on the School Council with me. The teachers have helped me in
my exams and made life fun. Farewell Kew College.
