Year 6 Dragon ’ s Den project
At Christmas the Year 6 children undertook a project to design and create a fes ve light installa on as part of our topic of electricity . The children were given a design brief and they then worked in groups to design a product to sell to the “ Dragons ” : Mrs Aus n , Miss Townsend and Miss Shaffer . Throughout the process the children gained prac cal experience tes ng circuits to see how they could change the brightness of bulbs and the effec veness of buzzers ; they also learnt the difference between series and parallel circuits . “ It was a fun and challenging experience , it broadened our horizons and taught us to work as a team and overcome obstacles along the way ”. The Year 5 Science Fair
This year ’ s Science fair was a roaring success . The Year 5 children created some fantas c displays for our theme of ‘ Health , well-being and fitness .’ This included projects on diet , exercise , lung capacity and heart rate .
