Hampton Court Palace

We were all very excited when we were on the coach to Hampton Court Palace , wondering what we might see and discover about Tudor life . Of course , it was all fun . However , there was one par cular ac vity that everyone loved and that was performing the play . This was about King Henry VIII and how he hated the Cardinal who had built Hampton Court Palace . It started off with King Henry VIII ’ s supporters and Cardinal Wolsey ’ s supporters chan ng at each other . Although the language was old fashioned , we managed to read and understand the words with the help of our guide .

Mandir Visit

Our guide was dressed as Thomas Wolsey ( the man who built Hampton Court Palace ). He took us to a private room to learn a poem by John Skelton who was Henry VIII ’ s teacher . We turned the poem into a play which was fun . Our guide gave us a challenging test of our ac ng skills before going to the impressive Grand Hall to perform . He even made our teachers wear costumes !
Following our play we ventured over to the kitchen to learn about what it is like to eat in Tudor mes . This made us very hungry . We drew a table to show which Tudor foods would belong to the diets of rich and poor Tudors . Next we made a Tudor menu ; this was totally different to modern day food — most of it was disgus ng !
A er lunch we went to the Chapel where we learned about the ghosts of Hampton Court Palace . It has been reported by many of those that work there that there are many ghosts .

A visit to the Mandir taught us about the history and construc on of the temple and the exhibi on acted as a reminder of the well-known stories and the contribu on which Hinduism has made to civilisa on .
I found the marble archways breath-taking and couldn ’ t stop thinking about the effort it must have taken to build the Mandir .
