From print media, to interior design and now the carnival stage, Larry truly endorsed his mantra: ‘I cant change the direction of the wind but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.’- Jimmy Dean

His innate love for design and decorating had been realized from the very first time he built his own 9ft Christmas tree for his parents.

Larry was born 9th April 1983 and comes from the village of Talparo. Even though he earned a Diploma in Human Resources and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Sunderland, design and decorating has always been his true passion. With a decision to embrace this passion, he decided to use the skills and knowledge I gained from his degree to open his decorating business, Ly’Kit Designs.

While he works fulltime designing print media as a graphic artist at a family owned printery, Larry can be found in all corners of Trinidad and Tobago, working with clients to design, decorate and transform simple spaces into the perfect setting for events and functions inclusive of weddings.

Recently setting my sail towards a new direction, I ventured into carnival costume design in 2018 with Exousia mas band, where I harnessed inspiration from the fusion of my parents’ Chinese and Indian background and culture to create my own section. This was also the returning inspiration for my 2019 section Zhang Shi- with Exousia mas".

One of Larry's biggest dreams for the future is to have his own kiddies carnival band, to give children that amazing cultural experience that he myself was once actively involved in .
