pool will be an everlasting experience. The only amusement theme park in
south Kerala, Happy Land, certified with ISO 9001-2008, is located on MC
Road, 20 km north of Trivandrum city. This picnic hotspot, positioned on the
picturesque hamlet of Kuthiramkulam in between Vembayam and
Pirappancode, is a place endowed with nature’s bounty, featuring valleys,
plains and woodlands. Even though Trivandrum has internationally recognized tourist destinations like Kovalam, Ponmudi and Agatshyaar Koodam,
until recently it did not have an amusement theme park - a contemporary
attraction of modern-day tourism. Happy Land, a paradise of amusement
and entertainment, is a joint venture by a group of enterprising NRI’s. Happy
Land was opened for the public in 2005. Spread over an area of 18 acres
there are a variety of adventure rides including river crossing and flying fox.
The biggest in Asia with oceanic waves, the wave pool, the family pool and
waterfalls are other attractions of Happy Land. There are number of rides
people of all ages can enjoy like Challenger, Blue Wind, Columbus, Smash,
Cro-Cro, Crazy Cruise and Kuhu-Kuhu Express. Happy Land is incorporating
more and more new rides periodically to its existing array to offer more
thrill from time to time. The Vortex takes you to a trip amidst the stars. The
new rides introduced in the park are Rain Dance and Pegion (a family ride).
Apart from the four-dozen rides under the sections Water World, Thrills
and Spills and Kid’s Village, five more rides will be there to thrill you from
this year onwards. We can find Mayan Civilizations sculpture in Happyland’s
wall. It will be helpful for history students and those who search for gathering information. The 18 acre park amidst natural greenery and serene
beauty has got recognition as a complete amusement destination with
cent percent hygiene. It is maintaining high international standards in all
spheres including security. International standards are assured in hygiene,
especially in purifying the water used in water rides. Very often you will
have to choose from the rides as all the rides cannot be enjoyed in a single
day. Happy Land aims to make amusement affordable to commoners by
offering a surprising variety of rides at reasonable rates. Happy Land has a
three star restaurant, coffee shop, ice-cream parlour, telephone kiosk, curio corner, first-aid post and safe lockers and dressing rooms, along with
ample parking facilities. The three star restaurant certified with HACCP
(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) has the seating capacity up to
2000. Another highlight is newly build convention centre (A/C and Non AC)
apt for celebrations, get-togethers, business meets, anniversaries and stage
programmes. Three star buffet parties and other celebrations can be conducted here at affordable price rates. This is the first project of Happy Land
Amusement Park and Resorts Private Limited, a joint venture of a couple
expatriate Malayalis. The proprietors have scheduled to start a resort along362
