Welcome readers to the winter edition
of your LMS magazine and its focus on
those treating professions working daily
and side-by-side with physicians. Please find toward the end
of this edition that we are presenting a cartoon contest for
any physician-related contest idea. The publishing contact is
[email protected].
Take time to acquaint yourself with the announcement of
the new Physician Wellness Program offering counseling to
all LMS active members. It is fully vetted, free to members
and ultra-confidential. This is a superior benefit of LMS
membership.

health care for patients. Lowell Quenemoen MD follows
with an interesting tabular contrast between physicians and
nurse practitioners/physician assistants. This in turn leads
us to Frank Kourt’s historical review of Robert Edward’s
contributions to the technical science of extra-uterine human
fertilization.
Bob Granacher MD recounts his interviews of Emery
Wilson MD and Sam Powdrill PA-C regarding the current
status and planning for UK’s Physician Assistant program.
Our cover picture highlights an intriguing interview with UK
nephrologist Analia Castellanos MD and her nephrologist
father. This daughter-father team is leading the way to
improving renal transplant outcomes in Honduras and
building important UK-Honduras clinical nephrology
relationships.

Phillips MD for your enjoyment. It is quite an interesting
physician perspective. Next is Dean Janie Heath of the UK
College of Nursing. Dr. Heath outlines the fir
