" We decided to partner with the library due to the various activities that are offered during finals . This was a great way to help reduce stress by having a fun break creating them and being able to use them afterward ."

De-Stress with Stress Balls

Learning from the Disability Pride Club

In December 2021 , the library hosted a special event developed with Keirsten Hickey , President of the Disability Pride Club , to educate and provide stress relief before finals . Designed to be accessible to individuals of all abilities , the activity taught attendees how to create their own stress toy by filling balloons with a variety of common materials like flour , rice and beans . While working on their creations , the group participated in open discussion of living with both visible and invisible disabilities .
The Disability Pride Club is a club open to individuals of all abilities to help create a safe and diverse community . They are committed to advocacy and education towards the disabled and other diverse communities . They plan to form an official club in Fall 2022 .
