KeHE Goodness Report_Final | Page 4

A Letter from Brandon ,

At KeHE we have always believed business should aim higher than simply achieving commercial success . Our desire is to be a “ force for good ” in the communities we serve and around the world . Therefore , we measure ourselves not only on our Company ’ s commercial results , but also on the lives we have impacted for good . We call this , “ our quadruple bottom-line ,” as we strive to bring resources and tangible results in the four bottom-line areas of People , Purpose , Planet , and Profits .

This commitment was put into sharper focus this year as everyone at KeHE was severely tested . As a company identified as an “ essential service ” provider by the Federal Government , customer demand in our business increased dramatically , and we realized that riding out the pandemic or sheltering in place was not an option for many of our teams .

All of our people “ rose to the challenge ,” and demonstrated great resilience this year , but I am most proud of our

Special people do special things and as you will see in the pages that follow , the increased risk and workload experienced this year did not prevent KeHE employees and our partners from continuing to do some extraordinary things in the service of the less fortunate , the planet , and each other .

This Goodness Report is a snapshot of our business performance , and a glimpse into the impact KeHE has made on people both inside and outside our organization in the past year . We mark these accomplishments for two reasons . First , because we believe as human beings we are wired to serve and make a difference . This is how we find the inner joy of knowing our work mattered . And second , to establish a new baseline from which to hold ourselves accountable for raising the bar of ‘ Goodness ’ in the coming year and beyond .

Our hope is that it inspires everyone who reads it , to be a “ force for good ” in the places you work and live .

Sincerely , front-line workers ( warehouse employees , professional truck drivers , and sales associates ) who willingly put themselves at risk on the job each day . I am humbled by their character and grit , and I am reminded again that our people are our greatest asset , and what makes KeHE a special place . Brandon K .
