Keep Newcastle Weird Issue 1 Autumn 2013 | Page 2
Keep NEwcastle Weird (KNeW, pronounced “C’n you”) is a potentially occasional publication from the city of Newcastle, on the east coast of New South Wales. The idea for the magazine had its origins in late 2012, and this is the first issue (autumn 2013). This maiden voyage was crewed by Xavier Askin (Weirditorial, general factotum), Jim Wafer (editing, layout), Victor Pechorin and Daria Molchanova (cover design, logo design, editing, recruitment), Richard Lever (editing, proofreading), and Christine Bruderlin and Mark MacLean (design advice and assistance, editing, recruitment). Thanks to Geraldine Searles for the cover image, “Steel Angels”; to Bill Lewis for accepting the invitation to be Special Guest for this issue; and to all our contributors.
Our website can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/keepnewcastleweird/, and the magazine itself appears on Joomag (http://www.joomag.com/). Just type in “keep newcastle weird”. We can be contacted at [email protected]. The magazine was designed with open-source software and freeware fonts. Scribus was used for the layout.
