The Keene Chamber is a good neighbor
Founded July 1, 1993, and operated strictly by volunteers, the Keene Chamber of Commerce is a positive force in the community and organizes many citythemed events.
The Chamber’ s monthly membership luncheons, also open to the public, bring to Keene numerous elected officials— county and district judges, county commissioners, law enforcement personnel, state legislators, and members of the United States Congress— business, civic and educational leaders from Alvarado, Burleson, Cleburne and Joshua and other decision makers who have no other reason to be in Keene but to attend the Chamber meeting. That’ s important. The networking opportunities created by the Chamber luncheons lead to many positive outcomes. Ideas are exchanged, plans are developed, deals are done, all because someone who
had something to offer met someone at the Keene Chamber luncheon who needed and accepted it.
Consider for a minute just one program sponsored by the Keene Chamber: Its annual banquet, the 32nd of which will be held in 2025 at the Keene Community Center.
This banquet was held for 24 years at the Southwestern Adventist University cafeteria, until moving to the Community Center in 2018.
The banquet has brought to Keene nationally-known Christian comedians and local celebrities, allowing Keenites to enjoy their talents in person.
