Social Sciences
Foundation Year
Why study this course?
Society is beset with a range of problems, the possible solutions to which
are complex and contested. Who holds power, why does conflict occur
and how can we understand the changing nature of an increasingly
globalized society? The social sciences seek to address these difficult
questions and offer answers that might point the way to a more just
and sustainable future for humanity.

My Foundation Year has helped
me to continue my study to
a degree smoothly. The most
important thing is that it also
helped me to build a firm
foundation for my degree,
practice and tutorials on
presentation, seminars, how
to work in a group, and so on.
These skills have prepared me
to enter my degree course
without feeling anxious.
