Undergraduate Prospectus 2017 | Nursing and Midwifery Nursing and Midwifery Nursing and midwifery are highly respected career choices, offering a range of opportunities for advancement and specialism. With Keele you will experience a fantastic start with a degree in midwifery or any of the four nursing fields: adult, children’s, learning disability and mental health. You can make a difference to individuals’ experiences of care at all stages of life in a range of clinical, managerial, educational or research settings. As a nurse you might work in a hospital or community setting or within the independent sector, e.g. hospice, in a variety of roles. As a midwife you would work in community based and acute hospital settings as well as a midwife-led birth centre caring for women who have a normal pregnancy and birth, and those whose pregnancies are more complex.
