Nursing and
Midwifery
Nursing and midwifery are highly respected
career choices, offering a range of opportunities
for advancement and specialism. With Keele you
will experience a fantastic start with a degree in
midwifery or any of the four nursing fields: adult,
children’s, learning disability and mental health.
You can make a difference to individuals’ experiences of care at
all stages of life in a range of clinical, managerial, educational
or research settings. As a nurse you might work in a hospital or
community setting or within the independent sector, e.g. hospice,
in a variety of roles. As a midwife you would work in community
based and acute hospital settings as well as a midwife-led birth
centre caring for women who have a normal pregnancy and birth,
and those whose pregnancies are more complex.
