Grants
Currently, students can apply for a maintenance grant
of up to £3,387 each year (2015 figure): unlike the
loans, you do not have to repay this grant. The value
of the grant you are entitled to is means-tested and
will, therefore, depend on your household income.
If you choose to pay your fees during your studies,
you can make payments in up to two instalments
each year.
UK students can take out an additional student loan,
known as the maintenance loan or living cost loan,
to help with living costs. This loan is partially means
tested and the amount you can receive also depends
on where you are studying and living.
