Disclosure and Barring
Service (DBS)
If you apply and are offered a place on one of the
degree programmes listed on page 227, you will
also be required to apply, through the University, to
obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The University follows the DBS Code of Practice
(see www.homeoffice.gov.uk/dbs) and can provide a
copy of this code on request. The University also has
a policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders. Please
note that having a criminal record is not necessarily
a bar to obtaining a place on one of these courses.
Age on entry
Keele University will consider all applications
from students, regardless of their age. However,
for those professional courses where there are
placements with external agencies (including the
NHS) as part of the course, there may need to be
a minimum age restriction to comply with health
and safety regulations.

or by contacting the relevant school or the
relevant Admissions Office.
BTEC/OCR/Level 3
Cambridge Technical
We accept the BTEC (QCF)/OCR Level 3 Extended
Diploma for entry on to the majority of our degree
courses and usually ask for grades DDM-DDD overall.
The BTEC (QCF)/OCR Level 3 Diploma, (QCF)/OCR
Subsidiary Diploma and OCR Introductory Diploma
are also acceptable combined with addi F
