Course type
There are a range of assessment methods in the programme: essays,
examinations, individual and group presentations, oral examinations
and development of a portfolio. These form the basis for grading
the integration of practice with theoretical learning.

Your progression through the course depends on successful
completion of modular assessments and the achievement of
outcomes for entry to the Professional Register as a midwife
(NMC, 2009).

Study abroad
You can in your second year, provided you have made satisfactory
progress, undertake an elective clinical placement at another
hospital in the UK or explore opportunities abroad. You will have
to self-fund the costs involved, although travel bursaries may be
available for you to access.

affiliation agreements with universities/hospitals/healthcare areas
with Australia, Canada, Sweden and Turkey. Opportunities may also
be available to undertake clinical placements with a recognised
institution or charity.
Entry requirements
All candidates for Pre-registration Nursing and Midwifery
programmes are required to meet or exceed Nursing and Midwifery
Council requirements, including literacy and numeracy skills.
All candidates studying for qualifications covered by UCAS tariff
will be expected to meet a tariff score of 280-320. The exact tariff
score you will be required to meet will be determined by your
educational profile and your individual application.
