Teaching and assessment
As well as the familiar lecture, screening, seminar format, there is also
a strong emphasis on critical analysis and peer engagement both
in class and via the virtual Keele Learning Environment. Methods of
assessment are varied and will include individual essays, learning
peer review projects, examinations and group presentations.

Each year, the finalist with the highest grades
is awarded the ‘Shane Meadows Prize for Film
Studies’ endorsed by the BAFTA winning British
film and television director, Shane Meadows
(Dead Man’s Shoes (2004), This Is England
