Politics Key Information Overview Contemporary societies are confronted with an array of complex challenges: economic globalisation, democratic malaise, ecological degradation, and terrorism, to name but a few. The pathway in Politics is designed to provide students with the necessary conceptual tools and research skills to critically examine such contemporary challenges. The degree enables students to work across the various specialisms of the School of Politics, Philosophy, International Relations and Environment in the areas of Comparative Politics, Parties and Elections, Policy Studies, Public Policy, Environmental Politics and Policy, and Political and International Theory. The course is taught over a 12 month period (September to September and January to January). It is available both full-time and part-time. Students completing an MA at Keele have gone on to a variety of careers in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Aside from playing a part in my appointment to a new job, the course in general and my independ ent research in particular also provided a springboard for me to have my work published in academic journals.
