Overview Our MSc in Geoscience Research will provide you with an excellent start to your career, either in research, academia or industry. A distinct feature of this master’s programme is the opportunity for UK students to complete a placement at an international partner institution, all of which have established research links with Keele staff. However, as a UK student, you can also choose to carry out your research project here at Keele. As an international student, you will undertake your research and placement at Keele University under the supervision of international experts in your chosen research area. Currently, international placement options are available in Europe (Belgium, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Sweden), North America (Canada and Mexico) and Asia (Malaysia). Placements within the EU are supported under the ERASMUS scheme, and the work and achievements on the programme will be documented in the Europass, which records the knowledge and skills acquired in another European country. Module titles Additional information • Academic English for Postgraduate Students The MSc Geoscience Research is a one year, full-time course starting in September. The programme provides generic research training during the first semester, but most other modules are focused on your chosen area of research and on completion of your dissertation. International placements may be carried out between February and August, and may last from several weeks to several months. The programme comprises six modules including a research project, which is undertaken either at Keele or on placement with a host institution overseas.
