love Keele
We offer a range of opportunities to make the most of your time
here and prepare you for life after your postgraduate studies.
With co-curricular activities, such as societies, sports, volunteering,
mentoring, enterprise and representation, there is always something
to do and we recognise that these activities are an important part
of your personal development.
There are a range of learning activities to support
your personal and professional development,
preparing you for employment or further study.
You can work towards completing the Keele
University Skills Portfolio (KUSP) and gain a free
additional accreditation from the Institute of
Leadership and Management (iLM). Keele University
is the first university in the United Kingdom to offer
you the opportunity to gain this accreditation,
awarded by a professional body, alongside
your degree.
Team work
Our Careers and Employability team will help you to
explore your career options. There are one-to-one
guidance drop-ins, career-related events including
workshops and employer visits, confidential careers
interviews and a resource area where you can carry
out careers research. The team also offer specialist
sessions for postgraduate students.
Employers are increasingly looking for people with
interpersonal skills, team-working abilities, flexibility,
adaptability and excellent communication skills.
The Careers and Employability team will help you
to think through how you have developed these
skills and how to present these when you make
applications. Our careers advisers will help you
identify work experience opportunities, which
may include structured internship programmes,
work shadowing and volunteer work.

of Student Employment Services (NASES) and
provides advice and guidance on a whole range of
employment issues. It also serves to reinforce links
